Destaca de este precioso retrato, a parte de la belleza y mirada inquietante de la dama retratada, el barboquejo o barbette, se trata de una banda de lino por debajo de la barbilla que sube hasta las sienes y ata la prenda a la cabeza. Se utilizó desde finales del siglo XII hasta el siglo XIV.

What stands out in this lovely portrait, apart from the beauty and unsettling look of the lady portrayed, is the barbette, which is a linen band that goes under the chin, and up to the temples where it is attached to the headdress. This type of barbette was worn from the late twelfth century until the fourteenth century.
